New York singer/songwriter Ingrid Michaelson first achieved renown in 2007, in a manner indicative of the era's multimedia paradigm--her songs were featured in TV commercials and soundtracks. With a cooing, wispy voice perfect for the post-Norah Jones market and an arty sensibility akin to Feist, Michaelson went from underground obscurity to national recognition in the blink of an eye. Her second self-released album, GIRLS AND BOYS, was reissued in '07 in response to the dramatically increased interest in Michaelson's music.
