Graham Colton
b. 6 November 1981, Oklahoma City, Oklahoma, USA. Although he was a promising quarterback at high school, this US pop rock artist's interest soon switched to music when he began playing guitar and singing while studying at Southern Methodist University in Dallas, Texas. After releasing an independent album he formed his own band and quickly established a sizeable following on the local club circuit, leading to an invitation from the Counting Crowsto open for them on their 2002 tour. The Graham Colton Band then signed a contract with Universal Records and released the 2004 album Drive, which was completed during short breaks from their extensive touring schedule. Colton and his band, whose personnel has included Drew Nichols (guitar), Brian "Turtle" Turton (guitar), Aben Eubanks (guitar), Ryan Tallent (bass), John Lancaster (piano), and Jordan Elder (drums), have appeared with a wide range of artists, including the Dave Matthews Band, John Mayer, Train, and Kelly Clarkson. In 2007, Colton released the solo collection Here Right Now. One of the tracks, "Best Days", was played during an episode of the seventh series of the reality television show American Idol.
