Playing a heavily politicised fusion of Latin, funk, reggae and rock, this Californian ensemble has been plying its trade since 1993. The group has been led from the outset by vocalist and trumpeter Karlos Paez, a San Diego resident who was raised in a musical environment by his trombone-playing father Ezequiel Paez. He has been joined by a whole host of musicians during the group's lengthy career, including Giovanni Mejia (guitar), Regan Branch (saxophone), Gerry Guevera (bass), Ryan Moran (drums), Victor Tapia (percussion) and Luis Cuenca (percussion). The group is best heard on stage, where their intoxicating blend of styles is whipped into an energetic and life-affirming experience.
