Daughtry is the rock band fronted by singer-songwriter Chris Daughtry. The eponymous frontman is one in a series of artists who, while not victorious on the popular television show AMERICAN IDOL, were given tremendous career boosts thanks to their appearances there (however brief). Daughtry finished fifth overall in 2006, and started his band immediately after elimination. His brand of heartfelt angst-tinged rock proved enormously successful, a testament as much to the power of AMERICAN IDOL as to the talent of Daughtry himself.

I love his song Crashed! The whole album is fantastic, and I'm just so happy that he pursued his dream and started his own band, instead of joining someone else's. He's forging his own way with his own music, and the band behind him is awesome.
