Puppini Sisters
This vocal trio was formed in the UK in 2004 by Marcella Puppini (b. Bologna, Italy). She had studied piano as a child and although interested in singing had other career aims. In 1990 she attended London's St. Martin's College of Art where she studied fashion design. In her free time she sang at song and dance sessions, many of them informal, and this led her to change direction and in the early 00s she took a degree course at London's Trinity College of Music. After this, she led her own group and also worked as musical director at a London club. Puppini's musical interests stretch back in time to accommodate the all-female vocal groups of the 40s and this led her to form the Puppini Sisters in which her (unrelated) companions are Kate Mullins (b. England) and Stephanie O'Brien (b. England). The trio's repertoire includes original compositions, early vocal group staples such as "Bei Mir Bist Du Schn", "Jeepers Creepers" and "Boogie Woogie Bugle Boy", and later pop including "Wuthering Heights", "I Will Survive", "Panic" and "Crazy In Love".
