California's I Am Ghost tell gothic vampire stories over a blistering assault combining punk, screamo, and metalcore. The band's vast online networking empire caught the eye of Epitaph Records, who swiftly signed them up, unveiling the act's first album in 2005, a concept record, WE ARE ALWAYS SEARCHING. The follow-up, LOVERS' REQUIEM, built the legend, featuring lead vocalist Steven Juliano's delicate screams over furious chords cut by a string section and classical choir.
