Caribou
Canadian electronic musician Daniel Snaith's one-man project was originally called Manitoba, and his second album under that name, 2003's UP IN FLAMES, made him a sensation on the indie scene. His use of acoustic elements in his music brought the "folktronica" label upon him, but subsequent recordings moved into other areas, including psychedelia and vocal-based pop. After the success of UP IN FLAMES, he was threatened with a lawsuit over his "group" name by Dictators singer Handsome Dick Manitoba, and Snaith subsequently started releasing his music under the name Caribou.
