Camille
b. Camille Dalmais, 1978, Paris, France. Initially known for her contributions to fˆted French act Nouvelle Vague, this bilingual singer-songwriter emerged in the mid-00s as a solo artist in her own right. A self-trained musician with a naturally graceful singing voice, Camille studied literature and politics at university before embarking on a music career. She signed a recording contract with Virgin Records at the turn of the new millennium. Her 2002 debut, Le Sac De Filles, attracted a great deal of press interest with its eclectic mixture of French chansons, bossa nova and English and American pop.
