DHT
One of a number of European dance pop acts to enjoy US mainstream success in the early 00s, Belgian duo D.H.T. took their trance remake of Roxette's "Listen To Your Heart" into the upper regions of the US pop charts in summer 2005. Comprising vocalist Edme (b. Edme Daenen, 25 March 1985, Kortrijk, Belgium) and well-known "jump" DJ Da Rick (b. Flor Theeuwes, 28 August 1976, Turnhout, Belgium), D.H.T. established themselves on the European club scene in the early years of the new millennium with a slick live act and a string of high-energy singles. "Listen To Your Heart" was originally released in 2003 through the Hardbounze label and enjoyed notable success on the European club charts. The New York-based Robbins label picked up US distribution the following year, releasing the track in late 2004. After burning up the US club scene the single completed its climb into the pop Top 10 in August 2005. D.H.T.'s debut album, also titled Listen To Your Heart, was a minor gem of disposable dance pop featuring lightweight original material alongside remakes of Janis Ian's "At Seventeen", Paul Davis' "I Go Crazy" and Sniff 'N' The Tears' "Driver's Seat".
