b. Nieves Rebolledo Vila, 9 May 1978, Valencia, Spain. Bebe's parents were members of the folk group Suberina. The group toured extensively and the young Bebe soon became a singer and guitarist, and while still in her mid-teens she joined Vanagloria. In 1996 she embarked on a solo career based in Badajoz, one of two provinces that constitute Extremadura, the region in which Suberina originated. She then moved to Madrid where she studied drama. She also joined a loose assembly of singer-songwriters with whom she performed at bars throughout the capital. In 2001 she won a singer-songwriter competition in Extremadura, the western region in which her parents had been established. Meanwhile, her solo career continued with an acclaimed 2004 debut, Pafuera Telara¤as, and an international hit with "Malo", a single from the album. In 2005 she was named as Best New Artist at the Latin Grammy Awards. Among artists with whom Bebe has worked are Tontxu, Luis Pastor, Combo Linga and T¡o Calambres.
