Between The Buried And Me
Formed in 2001 by Tommy Rogers (vocals), Paul Waggoner (guitar), Nick Fletcher (guitar), Jason King (bass), and Will Goodyear (drums), this North Carolina, USA-based mathcore band takes its unusual name from a lyric in the Counting Crows song "Ghost Train". Their self-titled debut flew under the radar of commercial acceptance but attracted the attention of the Chicago-based metal/hardcore label Victory Records. The band's diverse range of styles, which takes in death metal, thrash and grindcore alongside the more progressive leanings of their mathcore sound, came to fruition on The Silent Circus, a 2003 release that featured new drummer Mark Castillo.
