Future Sound Of London
Though it's debatable whether Future Sound of London actually lived up to the bold proclamation inherent in their name, the club-kid duo of Garry Cobain and Brian Dougans brought a fresh approach to creating the house and hardcore sounds that ruled early-'90s British clubs. Using an eclectic array of samples, and pulling liberally from the various techno subgenres emerging at the time, FSOL produced a sound that in many ways defined the electronic music scene of England in the early '90s, yet remained distinct unto itself. Later FSOL projects incorporated an array of multimedia effects that utilized video footage, radio broadcasts, and PC link-ups.

...my dad really liked the album dead cities for a very long time...I added the title track because it reminds me of the time he had a stereo that would stop working if you jumped on the floor too hard...
