Jim Jones
b. Joseph Jimmy Guillermo Jones II, 15 July 1976, the Bronx, New York City, New York, USA. A member of the Cam'ron-led US rap crew the Diplomats and a prominent businessman, Jones has also released commercially successful solo albums. Raised in the Harlem district of New York City, Jones spent time hustling as a youngster but escaped the dangers of the streets in the mid-90s by devoting his entrepreneurial skills to carving out a career in the music industry. He set up Diplomat Records with aspiring rapper Cam'ron and spent the next few years steadily building up the label while trying his hand in a number of other ventures. More of a businessman than a rapper, Jones made a number of low-key guest appearances on other artists' albums before joining Cam'ron, Juelz Santana and Freekey Zeekey in the Diplomats. The crew's debut album, Diplomatic Immunity, was a notable commercial success during summer 2003. Jones made his own-name debut just prior to the release of the second official Diplomats album. On My Way To Church reached the US Top 20 in 2004 and spawned the hit singles "Certified Gangsta" (featuring Cam'ron and The Game) and "Crunk Muzik" (featuring Cam'ron and Juelz Santana).
